A message from Dave Roderick re: Covid-19
We recently met as the leaders of the Woodlands Group of Churches (a metre or two apart from one another!) to pray and plan our response to the recent Government advice and medical directives to faith communities.
Together we decided to suspend all our public gatherings for the time being and look at new and creative ways of maintaining our community and devotional life together.
This means we will not be gathering at Greenway on Sunday mornings and we have suspended all our midweek activities and groups.
Whilst we won't be gathering physically on Sunday at 10.30am, please watch this space for our online resources and live-streaming events!
In the meantime together with churches across the city let's:
Pray for those most at risk and for health and other care workers who are already under huge pressure
Be generous in donating food and money to the work of the Foodbanks e.g. www.northbristol.foodbank.org.uk or www.bristolnorthwestfoodbank.org.uk
Also please consider volunteering time - www.thenoise.org.uk/bristolchurchresponse
Finally, let's put our love for our neighbour into action by helping care for isolated and vulnerable people in our the local community or the street where we live.
I'll be in touch soon and remember:
God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.Psalm 46:1-3
God is with us - may you know His strength and love in the days ahead.
Much love, Dave.
