Community

As a church family we are committed to serving our local communities of Southmead, Westbury on Trym and the North of Bristol.

We do this through the Foodbank, youth clubs, supporting the Bristol Noise, the Single Parents Fair, Bristol Brickers Basketball and more!

STARS

Our popular toddler group meets on Thursdays (during term time) at The Ranch, Doncaster Road, BS10 5PP.

Southmead Stars is a toddler group for parents/carers who live within the BS10 area. It is run by a team of volunteers from The Community Church who will give you a warm welcome.

Our sessions for pre-school aged children, run from 10am-11.15am.

At Southmead Stars we have lots of fun together, playing with toys, doing puzzles, free play, enjoying tea/coffee and cake, making crafts and singing together.

We ask for a weekly contribution of £1 per family, payable as you arrive.

Please bring a reusable coffee/tea mug with you -we like to be as environmentally friendly as possible.

Basketball Club in Southmead

This basketball session is aimed at young people in secondary school (under-18s). The sessions cost £2 (unless they’re outdoors, those are free!) and will include a mixture of informal and organised games, a little bit of structured work with drills and some personal development (made up of teamwork, and concentration on emotional/physical/spiritual/mental health for young athletes).

Sunday Morning Devotion

Sunday Mornings from 10:30 to 12:00pm

Our youth group (year 7+, or age 11+) is called Devotion and meets every Sunday morning during the Community Church service at the Greenway Centre in Southmead. It's an opportunity to meet other young people exploring faith together in a relaxed way with crafts, games and usually food. Look out for the third Sunday in the month breakfast special which is held at our Alberts Place building.

Albert’s Place Youth Club

Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:00pm

This is a Youth Club for young people in secondary school, every Thursday evening during term time from 6:30pm - 8:00pm (for years 7 to 11) at the Community Church building on Albert Place road in in Westbury. Entrance costs £1.50.

Devo Cafe

2nd and 4th Sundays from 10:30am to 12pm

Devo Café runs for those in Year 10-13 every 2nd and 4th Sunday morning. Come to the Greenway Centre as normal, and then head out to the cafe when all young people go out. This is a more chilled out session with more in-depth discussions about the topic that we are looking at in Devo

Devo Breakfast

3rd Sundays from 10:30am-12pm.

The Devo breakfast happens at the Albert Place building on the third Sunday morning of each month. We start at the Greenway Centre as usual, then with the help from our DBS checked drivers, we will all head down to Albert Place together for breakfast. Our drivers will bring everyone back for the end of the church service. If you are interested, please sign your young person up here.

Youth Discipleship Home groups

Throughout the week

Our youth home groups are a place to explore the Christian faith deeper than we are able to do on a Sunday Morning. Through these home groups, young people will be able to build community with others of a similar age, share food together and, as a group, look at what it means to be a Christian in 2024. If you are interested in joining a youth home group, click the Send a Message link below.

Saturday 9th November 2024

10:30am - 12:30pm

The Single Parents Fair is back again this year with all the usual good stuff, including portrait photography, advice stalls, hairdressing, hand therapy, crafts, inflatables, cooking demonstrations, gift bags, raffle and homemade cakes! And all for FREE!

The Single Parents Fair, organised by The Community Church, is one of our favourite events of the year! It's an opportunity for us to come alongside those who parent on their own.

We aim to provide you with some pampering and a bit of break. Join us on Saturday 9th November, 10:30am-12:30pm, at The Greenway Centre, Southmead, BS10 5PY.

We look forward to seeing you on the day.

Foodbank

A team from our church helps run the North Bristol Foodbank outlet every Thursday at the Greenway Centre providing emergency food parcels to those struggling as a result of changes or delays in their benefits or due to other exceptional circumstances.
